The modular grain dryer is designed for efficient and safe drying of pre-cleaned grain and seeds to the required moisture level. It is installed in post-harvest grain and seed processing lines as well as dedicated seed and food-grain preparation plants.
Modular louver dryers are a further development of the classic shaft dryer and an advanced solution for cross-flow heat transfer. A guide column directs the grain flow and provides high drying quality with significantly lower energy consumption.
The grain mass moves in a zigzag path under gravity, parallel to the bends of the louver walls. This intensive movement provides full and uniform contact with the circulating heated air.
Hot air enters the inlet channel from the closed rear side. Passing through the grain layer, it heats the grain and removes moisture before moving into the outlet channel.
As grain flows down special louver flaps on both sides of the channel, it remains a dense continuous column while being intensively mixed. This mixing is the key difference from conventional shaft dryers with cross-flow heating.
Continuous mixing provides uniform heating and faster moisture removal. The high mixing coefficient makes it possible to achieve uniform final moisture and, when required, use a higher drying temperature without overheating the grain.
The design is also environmentally efficient. Larger air-duct cross-sections reduce air velocity and therefore reduce dust emissions.

Sensors are integrated into an alarm and automatic burner shutdown system. A fire-extinguishing system is available as an option.

Depending on the selected dryer, capacity increases by 10–20% with each added module. Standardized parts and assemblies simplify repair and maintenance.

Electrical power demand is 15–20% lower. Shaft insulation minimizes heated-air losses. Electricity savings can reach 30%.

No stagnant zones, separated grain flows and no counter-flowing grain inside the shaft. Self-cleaning is provided and the probability of grain bridging during drying is minimal.

The large cross-section and volume of the hot-air chamber allow different fuel types and simplify burner replacement.

20–23 kW at 25 t/h. Competitive cost combined with high throughput and lower specific energy consumption.

FLATUM comprises a dryer body with a loading hopper, drying-column modules, fans, burner equipment, a cleaning system, thermal insulation, service platforms and automated control.
Air recirculation improves drying uniformity and optimizes heating and energy consumption. The loading-hopper distributor provides even grain flow around the dryer perimeter.
