Description
An automated receiving pit is a grain receiving hopper with an integrated conveying mechanism, such as a scraper, screw or belt conveyor, and an automatic control system. It receives bulk material from vehicles, accumulates it and mechanically transfers it for further processing to an elevator, conveyor, separator or silo.
Automation controls conveyor start and stop, feed regulation, fill-level monitoring and protection against emergency conditions. The system operates according to a programmed control algorithm.
Construction: a metal hopper made of galvanized steel (350 g/m²) with inclined walls of at least 45°, allowing material to flow by gravity toward the conveyor.
Dimensions: the pit length is calculated for the maximum body length of the unloading vehicle, usually 5–25 m, so the full load can be received and distributed evenly.
Additional options include aeration, ventilation, temperature monitoring and dust suppression systems, as well as pumps for liquid drainage.
(AZP) Bolted; galvanized steel with 350 g/m² zinc coating; available lifting angles of 5 / 10 / 15 degrees; supplied disassembled.
Advantages
ECOGRAIN can cover the customer’s needs for post-harvest grain logistics. The core principle is ergonomic, easy-to-use equipment.
All products are developed around customer requirements and manufactured using advanced technologies and materials for a long service life.
We offer competitive prices, making our products attractive for businesses of different scales.
Modern manufacturers offer underground and drive-over designs. The first type is economical because it requires less material and labor to build and has a side grain outlet.
We offer drive-over receiving pits that combine multifunctionality and convenience. Vehicles can unload from the side or rear, allowing grain to enter the receiving unit directly.
- types of grain being processed;
- climatic conditions;
- elevator complex configuration;
- vehicle body dimensions.
Equipment dimensions also depend on the groundwater level. At a high level, the concrete structure is waterproofed or drained, with accumulated water pumped out periodically.
For a receiving pit to meet its purpose, its dimensions must be calculated accurately, the cost assessed correctly and installation carried out properly. ECOGRAIN specializes in elevators, grain drying complexes and equipment for post-harvest logistics, processing and storage, and designs ZAV and KZS systems of any complexity.
Design and operation
A receiving pit combines the receiving structure, conveying mechanism and elements that provide safe, even grain feed into the process line. Depending on the project, bolted or welded designs, conveyor-equipped mechanized versions and different discharge schemes can be used.
